Our Story

The beginnings of Rise Bake Shoppe date back over 35 years, when The Country Table was founded in 1983 by Roy and Fran Sauder. The Country Table evolved in the decades that followed, offering a variety of services including a full service restaurant, banquet facilities, a deli, catering, and even a gift shop.

While many aspects of the business came and went over the years, the Country Table Restaurant and Bakery were two that stood the test of time. In 2017, we (Tom and Jess Daly) decided to join the long-standing baking tradition and took over The Bake Shoppe at Country Table from our parents, Tom Sr. and Roe Daly, who had operated it since 2000.

Like many small businesses, the pandemic years of 2020 and 2021 brought significant challenges that forced us to take a closer look at many things we had always taken for granted or assumed were unchangeable. By the end of 2021, we had discerned that the bakery was at the beginning of a new chapter, one that would be defined not only by what we make, but by who we are. We pursue excellence in order to serve our community. We work as a team because we care for one another. And we foster innovation and creativity because these are personal gifts that are meant to be shared.

After much consideration, we felt that one of the most impactful ways our company could capture who we are and what we value was to change our name to Rise Bake Shoppe. Rise is a bakery term that embodies the upward progress we desire for our team, business, customers and community. It is a process word, like a cake that’s moving upward but isn’t quite done baking yet. We are all a work-in-progress.

Even though we are continuing to change, the recipe of what makes us who we are remains the same. We remain dedicated to being a quality, made-from-scratch bakery. We will continue to serve our second and third generation customers, some of whom have never had a birthday cake from anywhere else. We are committed to meeting and exceeding the level of quality and service that keeps our customers coming back.
